The Days Before Gotcha Day

We may be 8342 miles away, but we can still hear the cries of our family, "We want pictures!" (fists clinched in the air).  We relent - here are the pics.  Plus we're tired and posting pictures is much easier than writing.  Tomorrow's the BIG DAY!  Many thanks to all who are praying (and stalking - you know who you are...)
Seoul airport terminal.  Landing 4:30am with a 5 hour layover =  much needed nap on an airport bench.

Passing through China Customs
View of the Garden Hotel
View of Guangzhou. Capital city of Guangdong province.  With over 12 million people, Guangzhou is China's third largest city

Slurpees anyone?

Good ol' Trust Mart.  Doesn't look like much on the outside, but rivals any Walmart Superstore on the inside
Wade must have an inviting face.  This is the first of 3 guys to randomly approach Wade in conversation.  Igi (the man on the right) insisted that Wade take a picture with him.  Guangzhou has a recent influx of Africans in the area.  This has been met with mixed reactions among the locals and has even opened new discussions on racism previously unseen in China.
Combing the aisles looking for simple items - when you don't know the language nothing is simple to find.
Wade's Sidenote: we receive lots of stares in China but Natalie acquires all the long awkward stares.  Tall beautiful redhead strolling through the streets of Guangzhou.  The locals are mesmerized by her and so am I

Just be glad this blog doesn't come smells included

Yes that's dried squid

Dinner before Gotcha day included Guangzhou Mexican food.

So much of me wishes I was there to help you navigate and communicate! But at the same time, I know all too well what an amazing experience it can be to just figure things out together. Everything you talk about is so familiar. I hope this is me and JT someday! Praying for you guys - I know tomorrow comes with a whirlwind of emotions. Love you!! Gin-Cat

Mexican food in China? I'd wondered how Wade was fairing in the far east... Any stuffed peppers yet?
